Abstract
We present a comprehensive review of the material properties of cadmium zin c telluride (CZT, Cd1-xZnxTe) with zinc content x = 0.1-0.2. Particular emp hasis is placed on those aspects of this material related to room temperatu re nuclear detectors. A review of the structural properties, charge transpo rt, and contacting issues and how these are related to detector and spectro meter performance is presented.
