Abstract
We have analyzed our own results on upregulated gene expression in human an d monkey lymphomas as well as the data published on expression levels of ge nes in various cancer cells. The analysis suggests an important role of par ticular subunits of oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) proteins in malignan t transformation of the cell. it opens a possibility of designing new anti- cancer drugs aimed at specific inhibition of the expression of definite mit ochondrial OXPHOS proteins' subunits including those of NADH-dehydrogenase 4, cytochrome c oxidase 1, and cytochrome b.
