Characterization and applications of crosslinkable materials

Crosslinkable photosensitive materials have been studied for many years and they are widely used for optical recording of information. After investiga ting the photochemical process in various systems, it appears that the chem ical structure of the polymeric matrix plays an essential role in the proce ss of the reaction that takes place upon irradiation by a laser beam. The r esults of experiments that were conducted to investigate the possible use o f different sensitizers and different mixtures of polymers are presented in this paper. Also, some applications that were studied using such crosslink able systems as volume hologram as well as surface relief structure recordi ng material are presented.
