Measurement of the tau topological branching ratios

Using data collected in the DELPHI detector at LEP-1, measurements of the i nclusive tau branching ratios for decay modes containing one, three, or fiv e charged particles have been performed: B-1 equivalent to B( tau (-) --> (particle)(-) greater than or equal to 0 p i (0) greater than or equal to 0K(0)nu (tau)) =(85.33 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.05)%; B-3 equivalent to B(tau (-) --> 2h(-)h(+) greater than or equal to0 pi (0) greater than or equal to 0K(0)nu (tau)) = (14.56 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.05)% ; B-5 equivalent to B(tau (-) --> 3h(-)2h(+) greater than or equal to0 pi (0) greater than or equal to 0K(0)nu (tau)) = (0.115 +/- 0.013 +/- 0.006)%, where h is either a charged ir or K meson. The first quoted uncertainties a re statistical and the second systematic.
