Abstract
The contribution of N. Ye. Zhukovskii to filtration theory is noted. T wo problems concerning a prolate cycloid and a curtate cycloid, the so lutions of which can be obtained using a function introduced by Zhukov skii, are considered as an example. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
