Msc. Pedras et al., PREPARATION, BIOTRANSFORMATION, AND ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY OF METHYL BENZYLDITHIOCARBAMATES, Canadian journal of chemistry, 75(6), 1997, pp. 825-828
The biotransformation of three methyl benzyldithiocarbamates by the bl
ackleg fungus (Leptosphaeria maculans (Desm.) Ces. et de Not., asexual
stage Phoma lingam (Tode ex Fr.) Desm) was investigated. The main bio
transformation products were isolated and their chemical structures we
re determined by spectroscopic methods. Similarly to our previous stud
ies with the phytoalexin brassinin, these results suggest that virulen
t blackleg isolates are significantly more effective in metabolizing b
enzyldithiocarbamates than the related avirulent isolates.
