Aa. Khodyakov et al., Parameters of mass transfer of hydrogen-containing species and specific features of their localization in alkali-borate glasses, RUSS J PH C, 75(4), 2001, pp. 660-663
The conditions of stabilization and parameters of mass transfer of hydrogen
-containing species in alkali-borate glasses of composition Me2O(Me = Li, N
a, K, Rb)-B2O3 were studied using the IR spectrometry and radiotracer metho
ds. it was revealed that the characteristics of the H-bonds in these glasse
s depend on the physicochemical properties of the alkali ion, it was also s
hown that, in the bulk of the glass, hydroxyl ions are stabilized as indivi
dual entities, in contrast to those at the surface. It was found that the m
ass transfer of hydrogen-containing particles is a diffusion-controlled pro
cess. The diffusion parameters for all the studied glasses were determined.
The effect of the physicochemical properties of the glass-forming element,
in particular, its proton-acceptor ability, on the parameters of mass tran
sfer was discussed.
