Abstract
A new methodology for designing the placement of production well-monitoring sensors is presented. With a well-flow simulator, estimate the inflow prof ile of a production well and solve the flow in the well. The accuracy in th e estimated inflow profiles using inverse problem associated with the mathe matical model for fluid a:: different types and placements of sensors can b e computed, and an efficient way to search for an instrumentation layout is presented.
