Abstract
Allylic alcohols react with aldehydes, in an atom economy aldol-type reacti on, in the presence of catalytic amounts of various rhodium and ruthenium c omplexes. This reaction occurs with total regiocontrol under mild condition s, but varying amounts of ketone derived from the competing isomerization r eaction are also observed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
