Abstract
A novel cyclam-like macrocyclic tetramine la was synthesized via coupling o f bispidine and its bis(alpha -chloroacetamide) followed by reduction. Stro ngly basic but encrypted nitrogens of la were found to abstract a proton fr om chloroform to form dichlorocarbene. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All r ights reserved.
