Abstract
A simple and efficient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of ar yl-substituted chloro and bromo olefins from aromatic ketones and acetyl ha lides in the presence of silica gel-supported zinc halides. The Z-isomer is selectively formed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
