U. Felderhoff-muser et al., Familial recurrence of spontaneous fetal intracranial hemorrhage: ultrasonographic diagnosis and postnatal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ULTRASOUN O, 17(3), 2001, pp. 248-251
We report fetal intracranial hemorrhage in term siblings from consanguineou
s parents, spontaneously occurring in the third trimester of pregnancy. Pre
natal ultrasound in one case and postnatal MRI in both demonstrated massive
parenchymal bleeding involving large areas of the cerebral cortex, white a
nd gray matter. Vasculopathies, vascular malformations, coagulopathies, thr
ombocytopenia and relevant metabolic disorders could be excluded.
