A strong case can be made for the reciprocal transfer of learning between t
he journals and practice, as well as for blurring the distinction between t
he science and practice of I/O psychology. This is because journals consist
ently provide answers for practice, and the implementation of the answers p
rovides a basis for publication and subsequent research. The author's resea
rch and practice in the areas of employee motivation, performance appraisal
, training, and personnel selection are used in support of these arguments.
