Abstract
The crystal structure of Na-2[Ni(succim)(4)]. 2H(2)O complex having four mo nodentate succinimidate (succim) ligands was determined by X-ray structural analysis. The host complex captures five-coordinated guest sodium ion, whi ch is the first example of a podand complex formed in a crystal. Polarized crystal electronic spectra of the complex were measured with parallel and p erpendicular to b axis polarization.
