Abstract
Biofluids such as blood, as well as other structured materials, exhibit rat her complex rheological behaviour. In this paper, starting from a first-ord er kinetic model, we developed a constitutive equation and studied its appl icability to model biofluids. In particular, we studied the cases of simple shear flow, hysteresis and yield stress. Model predictions were successful ly compared with experimental data on complex materials such as blood and a penicillin suspension.
