Bidentate Lewis acids for organic synthesis

The chemistry of bidentate Lewis acids belongs to an unexplored field of sc ience and has been only poorly studied so far. This review illustrates the design of several bidentate aluminum Leu is acids and their successful appl ication to selective organic synthesis. The chemistry disclosed herein impl ies the vast potential of bidentate Lewis acids in other fields of chemistr y including molecular recognition and asymmetric synthesis.
