Abstract
A novel molecule, containing two photochromic dithienylethene moieties link ed to a fluorescent bis(phenylethynyl)- anthracene residue has been prepare d, and shows a reversible change in its fluorescence quantum yield from 0.0 01 to 0.83, and a corresponding increase in laser emission intensity, on ex posure to UV light.
