Abstract
Measurement of glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity in normal and malig nant cells and tissues was performed in the form of comparative study. The results of this study may be fundamental for further analysis of the influe nce of different pro-oxidants and antitumour drugs on examined cells and or gans. Determined levels of GST specific activity may indicate that antioxid ative capacity and protective potential of malignant cells are decreased in comparison with normal cells and tissues, with the important exception tha t malignant cells possess the ability of enzyme induction in conditions of oxidative stress.
