L. Westbrook, Reference support for interdisciplinary scholars: Resources for working with women's studies faculty, CROSSING THE DIVIDE, 2001, pp. 265-270
Interdisciplinary scholars face complex information-seeking problems requir
ing multiple databases, strong interpersonal networks, and varied search st
rategies. Relatively little analysis of their information seeking experienc
e is available to the academic librarians who serve these scholars. This st
udy examines twenty information services and resources used in Women's Stud
ies noting, among other points, little use of Women's Studies indexes, high
use of interlibrary loan, and little familiarity with electronic document
delivery services.(1)
