Periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) is a common finding during neuroson
ography of preterm infants. Secondary thinning of the corpus callosum
is seen following PVL, typically from loss of hemispheric white matter
tracts. We report a case of direct involvement of the corpus callosum
with PVL, its pathogenesis, and its potential as a cause of corpus ca
llosal thinning.
