Pm. Nagorskii et al., Relative delays in the response of oblique SW-sounding signals during geomagnetic disturbances, GEOMAG AERO, 41(2), 2001, pp. 226-229
The ionospheric response to geomagnetic SI and SC disturbances and explosiv
e processes in the magnetotail were investigated. Using a mutual correlatio
n analysis of the time series of the Doppler frequency shift, the delay of
the signal response to local time at the receiving point on the reference p
aths relative to the response on the base path has been derived. It has bee
n established that the relative delays of the signal spectrum disturbances
range between -27 and +55 s, the quasi-period of frequency variations is 50
-150 s, and the frequency shifts, from fractions of a Hertz to 2 Hz.
