We here report a 53-year-old woman who had undergone resection of a choledo
chal cyst and hepaticojejunostomy three years before. She was readmitted be
cause of intermittent fever, and abdominal computed tomography revealed a 4
-cm tumor in the head of the pancreas. We performed pancreatoduodenectomy,
and examination of the resected specimen showed well-differentiated papilla
ry adenocarcinoma. Only 5 cases of carcinoma occurring after the resection
of a choledochal cyst have been reported, and to our knowledge, this is the
second case of carcinoma of the head of the pancreas.
