Heavily Pb-doped Bi2212 tapes were fabricated on silver and nickel substrat
es, On the Ag substrate, addition or fine MgO particles resulted in the inc
rease of viscosity of the melt, and the quality of the tapes was remarkably
improved due to suppression of outflow of the melt, On the Ni substrates,
Bi(Pb)2212 phases were rarely formed by the conventional melt-solidificatio
n method, however, the amorpboss-to-crystallization method gave a highly te
xtured Bi(Pb)2212/NiO/Ni tape. Microstructures and superconducting properti
es of these tapes were investigated, The highest J(c) achieved in this stud
y was 13000A/cm(2) (30K, 0T), This J(c) value, however, was still lower tha
n that of the Ph-free tape.
