Abstract
We examined the normal propagation characteristics of Bi-2223/Ag multifilam entary tapes as a function of magnetic field direction. Anisotropic current transport characteristics were estimated by taking into account the effect of the misorientation of the grains. Anisotropic normal zone propagation p roperties were examined based on the numerical simulation, and showed that the thermal properties were influenced by the anisotropic current transport characteristics.
