Abstract
We propose a single de reactor type fault current limiter, This fault curre nt limiter is for a three-phase power system, employing only one supercondu cting coil that is connected with the secondary windings of transformers th rough a diode-bridge. In this composition, a de reactor type fault, current limiter using a high temperature superconducting coil takes advantage of c oil inductance and does not require a superconducting coil normal transitio n. This paper presents the most suitable case of a single de reactor type f ault current limiter for a 6.6 kV power system and compares it with a three de reactors type fault current limiter.
