Abstract
The critical current and the transient change of resistance in a Bi2223 bul k applied de magnetic field were experimentally investigated. Taking accoun t of the decreasing rate of critical current and the increasing rate of res istance obtained from the measurement, we estimated :Ire condition under wh ich the gross resistance of the bulk rises while maintaining the critical c urrent and bulk volume. Furthermore, it is discussed whether the bulk shoul d be used with the applied magnetic field or not from the viewpoint of the bulk volume required to obtain the critical current and resistance designat ed.
