Video moire cancellation filter for high-resolution CRTs

The appearance of moire limits the performance of high resolution cathode r ay tubes (CRTs). Until now, cancellation circuits have used a small alterna ting image shift (wobble) to disguise moire but these circuits introduce ot her artifacts like flicker We present a novel solution for suppressing vide o moire with a specific nonlinear filter. Advantages include simple digital video signal processing and negligible degradation of the image quality, e ven in graphics with very fine detail.
