Abstract
We report a case of extravasation of an antitumor agent by preoperative mag netic resonance (MR) imaging. MR studies demonstrated a decreased signal in tensity on T1- andT2-weighted images and a strong enhancement of contrast m edia in injured tissue, including subcutaneous adipose tissue and deep fasc ia, which was cicatrical macroscopically. The MR findings were in good agre ement with the macroscopic findings. We believe that MR imaging is useful f or estimating deep tissue damage due to extravasation of an antitumor agent .
