Bv. Burns et al., Eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis affecting the nasal cavity. A mucosal variant of the skin lesion granuloma faciale, J LARYNG OT, 115(3), 2001, pp. 223-226
Eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis (EAF) is an unusual fibrotic condition a
ffecting the mucose of the upper respiratory tract, of which there have bee
n eight reported cases. The condition is thought to be associated with the
rare skin disorder granuloma faciale, which is histologically identical, an
d was present in two cases of EAF. We report the third case where EAF and g
ranuloma faciale occurred together, to highlight this type of intranasal fi
brosis as a distinct pathological entity.
