Abstract
Magnetic liposomes containing submicron-sized ferromagnetic particles were prepared encapsulating the muscle relaxant drugs, diadony or diperony, for local anesthesia. Alternatively, metal phthalocyanines (Photosense or Terap hthal), sensitizers for photodynamic or catalytic cancer therapy were loade d into the magnetic liposomes. Animal trials demonstrated successful magnet ically guided transport of the drug-loaded liposomes. (C) 2001 Elsevier Sci ence B.V. All rights reserved.
