Abstract
Rapid and efficient sorting is important for progenitor cell isolation. The refore, we have built and evaluated a high-speed, continuous flow, quadrupo le magnetic sorter. The cross-over behavior of non-magnetic particles, comb ined with separation theory is used to optimize performance. CD34 + progeni tor cells are separated to purities from 64-95% and a throughput of 10(7) c ells/s. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
