K. Boucke et al., RADIATION CONDITIONS FOR THE TIME-DEPENDENT SCHRODINGER-EQUATION - APPLICATION TO STRONG-FIELD PHOTOIONIZATION, Physical review. A, 56(1), 1997, pp. 763-771
Radiation conditions are introduced as an exact method to truncate num
erical solutions of the time-dependent Schrodinger-equation at the bou
ndaries of the numerical grid. A rigorous derivation of radiation cond
itions is given by the Green-function method for one- and three-dimens
ional regions. An accurate finite-difference representation is obtaine
d for a one-dimensional region. The method is applied to calculations
of strong-field photoionization. The calculation of ionization probabi
lities and energy spectra by the truncated solution is illustrated.
