Abstract
In this work, we present the application of specially constructed adaptive basis functions to generate a diagonal matrix in the method-of-moments solu tion procedure for the calculation of a scattered electromagnetic field fro m arbitrarily shaped two-dimensional cylinders excited by a transverse elec tric incident electromagnetic wave. Several numerical examples are also pre sented to validate the new method. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
