Abstract
The results of the essential oil composition confirm that there are differe nces between populations within the same subspecies (Satureja montana ssp. montana), between the subspecies (Satureja montana ssp. montana and Saturej a montana sap. pisidica) and the species (Satureja montana and S. kitaibeli i). The essential oil composition of S. montana ssp. montana is more relate d to the Satureja montana ssp. pisidica than S. kitaibelii which separates as a whole species. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
