Abstract
The classical two-duct Herschel-Quincke tube is generalized to an n-du ct configuration. A closed-form expression is developed for the transm ission loss characteristics, as well as for the resonance locations. W hile the results are illustrated in the present study in terms of thre e-duct configurations alone and in comparison with the two-duet arrang ements, the developed expressions hold for any number of ducts and cro ss-sectional area combination.
