Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a statistical model tinder) for qu antitative estimation of are stability. In the welding experiments, spatter was captured during welding and the amount was considered. At the same tim e, several factors were extracted from the measured waveforms. For quantita tive estimation of are stability, linear and non-linear regression models, composed of factors selected from the extracted factors, were proposed usin g multiple regression analysis. Through assessment of each proposed model c oncerning the amount of generated spatter, the best estimation model tinder ) accurately representing are stability was developed.
