Og. Yarosh et al., Hydrosilylation of 2-phenylpropene with dichloromethylsilane and transformations of the resulting adduct, RUSS J G CH, 70(10), 2000, pp. 1555-1556
2-Phenylpropene was hydrosilylated with dichloromethylsilane in the presenc
e of H2PtCl6 to synthesize dichloromethyl(2-phenylpropyl)silane. The latter
was reacted with methanol in the presence of carbamide to obtain dimethoxy
methyl(2-phenylpropyl)silane whose reaction with methylmagnesium iodide gav
e methoxydimethyl(2-phenylpropyl)silane Treatment of the latter with 40% HF
gave fluorodimethyl(2-phenylpropy)silane which was reacted with BrMgC drop
CH to obtain dimethylethynyl(2-phenylpropyl)silane.
