Abstract
Triphenylstibine was reacted with 2,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonic acid in tolue ne in the presence of air oxygen to obtain triphenylantimony bis(2,4-dimeth ylbenzenesulfonate). By X-ray diffraction data, the antimony atom in the co mplex has trigonal-bipyramidal configuration with axial 2,4-dimethylbenzene sulfonate oxygens. The Sb-O and Sb-C bond lengths are 2.105(2), 2.133(2), a nd 2.101(4), 2.078(5), and 2.094(5) Angstrom, and the CSbC and OSbO bond an gles are 127.1(2), 113.5(2), 119.3(2), and 176.8(1)degrees, respectively.
