Abstract
This paper reports the use of proton NMR spectroscopy for the analysis of trimethylamine in the urine of a patient with trimethylaminuria. A nalysis of this compound was also performed for other members of his f amily. Qualitative and quantitative determination of trimethylamine an d trimethylamine-N-oxide was simultaneously performed on untreated uri ne within a few minutes. The application of the method is discussed. ( C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
