A novel cyano-bridged heteronuclear complex [Sm(DMF)(4)(H2O)(2)Mn(CN)(6).H2
O](n) has been synthesized based on the reaction of K3Mn(CN)(6), Sm(NO3)(3)
. 6H(2)O and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). The crystal structure shows that
title complex is a one-dimensional chain complex with two cis-CN bridging l
igands between Sm atom and Mn atom. The measurement of magnetic property ev
idences an antiferromagnetic interaction between Sm and Mn atom. It is very
interesting that title complex exhibits unusual magnetic properties, such
as long-range magnetic ordering, critical temperature T-c = 18 K and strong
er coercive force H-c = 600 Oe.
