Abstract
We synthesized new DNA intercalators, polyol- or cyclic sugar-linked anthra quinone derivatives. The binding affinity of these DNA intercalators is sug gested to be controlled by the configuration and steric structure of sugar chain with the cyclic sugar chain interacting more strongly than the open-c hain polyol unit with double stranded DNA.
