Abstract
An HPLC method was developed for determination of amoxicillin, penicillin G , penicillin V,ampicillin, oxacillin, cloxacillin, nafcillin and dicloxacil lin in serum from pigs and cattle. Serum was cleaned up by solid-phase extr action (SPE), ultra-filtered and derivatised. The method was linear in the range tested up to 2000 ng mL(-1) of individual penicillins in serum. Limit s of detection were 11 - 14 ng mL(-1). Mean recoveries were 90 - 103% in th e range 20 - 2000 ng mL(-1) The relative repeatability, standard deviation was < 10% at 20 ng mL(-1) level and < 6% in the range 100-2000 ng mL(-1).
