Abstract
The relationship between haemoglobin types of adult dromedary camels and th e concentrations of haemoglobin. copper, ceruloplasmin and iron were studie d. Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein of 100 clinically healthy Iranian dromedary camels according to their age (1-2, 2-4, 4-6 and >6 year s) and ses. Haemoglobin electrophoresis showed two haemoglobin types: HbA ( 95.2%) and HbA(2) (4.8%). Age and ses had no significant effect on haemoglo bin types nor on the concentrations of haemoglobin, copper, ceruloplasmin a nd iron. There was no correlation between the concentrations of haemoglobin , copper, iron, ceruloplasmin, HbA and HbA(2).
