In this paper a generator of hybrid explicit methods with minimal phase-lag
is developed for the numerical solution of the Schrodinger equation and re
lated problems. The methods are of eighth algebraic order and have large in
tervals of periodicity. In order to have minimal phase-lag the methods of t
he generator, their coefficients are determined automatically. The efficien
cy of the new methods is presented by their application to some well-known
problems with periodic or oscillating solutions and to the coupled differen
