Abstract
We have applied the spectral averaging theory for the calculation of g iant dipole resonance (GDR) built on nuclear excited states. As a firs t application of this approach to the GDR, an fp-shell nucleus, Zn-64, is taken as an example. The results obtained along with a discussion on future scope of this method are reported in this letter.
