ISOSPIN ANALYSIS OF NONFACTORIZABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO HADRONIC DECAYS OF CHARM MESONS

We investigate non-factorizable contributions to D --> pi (K) over bar /D --> (K) over bar rho/D --> pi (K) over bar/D --> (K) over bar a(1)/ D --> pi (K) over bar(1)/D --> n/D --> pi (K) over bar(0)(0) and D --> (K) over bar a(2) decay modes. Obtaining the factorizable contributio ns from spectator-quark diagrams for N-c = 3, we determine nonfactoriz able isospin amplitudes required to explain the data for these modes. We observe that the ratio of these amplitudes seem to follow a univers al value for D --> pi (K) over bar/D --> (K) over bar rho/D --> pi (K) over bar/D --> (K) over bar a(1) decay modes. Extending this universa lity to D --> pi (K) over bar(1)/D --> nR1/D --> pi (K) over bar(0)(0) and D --> (K) over bar a(2) decay modes, we predict the branching rat ios for these decay modes.
