We tested the hypothesis, that the evaluation of the subtest Labyrinthe of
the Grundintelligenztest Skala 1 (CFT 1), a German adaptation of Cattell's
Culture Fair Intelligence Test - Scale 1, may partly depend on the informat
ion given to the evaluator (e.g). concerning what this subtest is intended
to measure). A study comparing two evaluation conditions showed that an eva
luation based only on the instructions from the test manual results in lowe
r raw scores than one that is also based on knowledge about the measurement
intention. Implications for the interpretation of the resulting raw scores
are discussed.
