Abstract
In this paper, the analysis of nonlinear dynamic behavior, especially chaot ic behavior, in switched reluctance (SR) motors using voltage PWM regulatio n is carried out, It is identified that the highly uneven distributions of both current and torque of each phase winding during voltage PWM regulation make the SR motor drive prone to chaos. Based on the derivation of the Poi ncare' map of the SR motor drive. the normal periodic. abnormal periodic an d chaotic behaviors are analyzed by computer simulation. Also, bifurcation diagrams with respect to the speed feedback gain, load torque, and referenc e speed are presented. These diagrams facilitate the investigation of the r oute to chaos under different parameters of the drive system.
