Abstract
A closed-form heuristic formula to calculate the delay quantile for a netwo rk consisting of identically loaded, independent nodes modelled as M/G/1 qu eues is introduced. The accuracy of thr heuristic formula is demonstrated b y means of some numerical examples, Since the heuristic formula is closed-f orm, accurate, and explicitly shows the influence of certain network parame ters, it is the preferred method to perform sensitivity studies.
