Abstract
The actinomycetes of the genus Actinomadura are rare components of actinomy cete complexes in soils of forest, steppe, and semidesert biogeocenoses. In forest soils, these mycelial procaryotes are numerous, especially in the l itter (F layer). In meadow soils, they are isolated mainly from the Ad hori zon, and in steppe and semideserts, from the upper soil horizons. This patt ern is explained by the nutritional requirements of these mycelial procaryo tes. The most favorable conditions far isolating Actinomadura from chernoze ms are the early and late stages of the succession initiated by moistening of the soil to the level of wilting moisture and the early stages of the su ccession initiated by soil moistening to the minimum water capacity.
